This milestone reflects both the continued growth of our firm and our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional engineering, environmental, surveying and planning services.
Each of our new partners brings a unique blend of expertise, leadership and perspective that strengthens our ability to serve our clients and communities. Their individual journeys and professional accomplishments speak to the values that define ERI.
We’re proud to introduce each new partner and share more about their backgrounds, areas of focus and the contributions they’ll make to ERI’s continued growth and success.
About Ryan McCarthy:
Ryan joined ERI in 2016 as a summer intern. During this time, Ryan was pursuing his degree in Civil Engineering at Rowan University. He worked full time over the summer and returned in the fall to work part time while pursuing his degree. It is this work ethic and dedication that made Ryan an obvious full-time hire upon his graduation in 2017.
From there, Ryan continued to expand his knowledge and skillset, earning his Engineer in Training (EIT) certification in August of 2017. By 2021, he earned his NJ Professional Engineer (PE) license, and in 2023, he earned his Certified Municipal Engineer (CME) certification. Since coming to ERI, Ryan has completed courses on grant management, design of ADA curb/ramps/pedestrian routes, inspection and assessment of dams, stormwater management design and highway inspection procedures for federal projects. This drive to improve himself resulted in Ryan being a homegrown expert in his field.
Currently, Ryan directly assists Vice President Rakesh Darji in managing the operations of the Engineering and Permitting department at ERI. Showcasing that knowledge and skill that comes with years of dedication and diligence. Ryan leads by example and is often turned to by emerging professionals, whom he guides confidently. Looking ahead, Ryan is planning to pursue his Professional Planner’s license to help broaden the range of services he can personally offer.

About Jennifer A. Harris:
Jen began her engineering career in 2003 and holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware, with minors in Environmental Engineering and Women’s Studies. As an undergraduate, she joined Alpha Omega Epsilon, an international engineering sorority, where she combined her passion for technical excellence with her commitment to supporting women in STEM. She has remained actively involved in the organization for nearly 20 years, serving in mentorship roles and on the executive board.
Jen joined ERI in 2020, bringing a wealth of experience in water and wastewater engineering. She has also led projects in land development and LSRP services. Jen has consistently demonstrated leadership, initiative, and technical acumen. She earned her NJ Professional Engineer (PE) license in 2021, her Certified Municipal Engineer (CME) credential in 2023, and her NASSCO Pipeline Assessment Certification in 2024.
Jen currently plays an integral role in the management of ERI’s Water and Wastewater Department alongside Vice President William Kirchner. She is pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in Urban Management and is working toward both her PMP certification and licensure as a water and sewer operator.
“Becoming a partner is something that I have been working towards since I started here at ERI. I have had many emotions about this process and accomplishment. The one that I keep coming back to is pride. There were many times when I wanted to give up. I’m proud that I got to this point and didn’t give up before I got here. I’m proud that I can be an example for other women in the field to show that getting to this point is possible. You just need to continue to work for what you want and not let the hard times hold you back.

About Neil Werket:
Neil holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design with a Minor in Architecture from the University of Minnesota. In 2004, Neil began his career in land development at a local Landscape Architecture and Planning Firm. For about half of his career, Neil worked on multidisciplinary park and recreation projects. Over time, he earned numerous honors and awards for his work, including two awards from the New Jersey Society of Landscape Architects, an award from the New Jersey Society of Professional Land Surveyors and two awards from the New Jersey Recreation and Park Association. Neil came to ERI In 2017, to work on planning and park/recreation projects.
Since joining ERI, Neil has obtained his Landscape Architecture License and become a Certified Playground Safety Inspector. Recently, Neil’s expansive skillset has led him to accolades once again, as a member on two teams that received awards from the New Jersey Society of Municipal Engineers.
Today, Neil is an integral part of the Planning and Landscape Architecture department at ERI and plays a key role in serving ERI’s burgeoning portfolio of institutional clients. His keen eye and attention to detail allows him to consistently produce excellent work. He continues to work on furthering his skillset and helping mentor and guide younger professionals.

I feel privileged to be a part of a company that continues to excel and that is so willing to teach budding professionals. I’m honored that I get to have a hand in the company’s future. I plan to assist with the continued growth of the parks, recreation and institutional markets. Part of this growth comes from being able to mentor my peers, learning from the principals and being able to help the younger generation advance their skills and experience.”

About Ethan Hyder:
Ethan’s professional surveying career began in 2001 when he was hired by a local engineering firm as a rodman. He worked his way up through every position available in the survey department – from rodman to survey coordinator. In 2004, Ethan earned his Survey Technician Level II certification.
When he started at ERI in 2008, Ethan was the sole survey technician in the firm. However, as time progressed, Ethan advanced both the survey department and his skillset. In 2016, he earned his Wetlands Delineation Certification from Rutgers University to help expand his knowledge and versatility in the field. By 2021, Ethan had worked his way up to being the Survey Department Manager. Ethan now oversees a team of nine technicians, a group that he is looking to further grow, strengthen, and mentor.
Ethan has played a key role in expanding the services offered by ERI. This includes GPS, Robotic Total Stations, 3D scanning, Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). Currently, Ethan is pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Surveying from East Tennessee State University (ETSU). He is committed advancing his capabilities, his department, and the company.
“I realize my path to partnership wasn’t a traditional one and certainly not the path most take – but that’s part of what makes this achievement so meaningful. The journey required long hours, personal sacrifices and a deep commitment to growing the department and supporting the company. To be accepted and recognized by so many accomplished leaders and professionals is incredibly rewarding. It means that the long hours and the times I put my own plans on hold-were worth it. This accomplishment is everything to me and I’m deeply proud and grateful to have reached this point.”
