Arney’s Mount Pedestrian and Horse Trail Project, Phase I, Springfield Township, NJ

Construction is underway for the path and footbridge portion of Burlington County’s Arney’s Mount Pedestrian and Horse Trail Phase I project in Springfield Township utilizing Federal Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) funds.

Arney’s Mount is the highest point in Burlington County, so this trail will provide an unusual opportunity for viewing the surrounding countryside.  ERI is performing construction management and inspection services on the project, which consists of constructing a new trailhead access and a 2.2-mile loop trail up and around Arney’s Mount through County-owned preserved open space.  The off-road portions of the trail will consist of a 10’ wide, asphalt path for walking, biking and horsebackriding through both wooded and open spaces.  The on-road segment will include bike compatible signage and striping plus an accessible paver sidewalk route.  All of the facilities will be ADA compliant. Major project components include an Equestrian Trail, a Trailhead, and a Rest Stop for visitors.
