Buttonwood Lake Dam, Mount Holly Township, NJ

As Township Environmental/Dam Safety Engineer, ERI is providing Mount Holly Township with engineering services for the replacement of the Buttonwood Lake Dam.  Services include Topographic Survey, Engineering Design, Bidding Services, Grant Administration, and Construction Observation.

The Buttonwood Lake Dam is a NJDEP Class III dam, which classifies it as a low hazard dam.  The Buttonwood Dam failed after a severe rain event in 2014. The Mount Holly Township Public Works Department had previously removed the failed dam and installed a temporary rip rap stabilization in anticipation of the full replacement project.

Currently, the contractor, R.D. Zeuli, is in the process of installing steel sheeting for the proposed dam structure. Sheeting installation will continue for the next few weeks before the contractor begins infill of the dam and installation of the control gate structure.
